JAMIA ARABIA TALIMUL ISLAM (J.A.T.I JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL)

Today, many Muslims are showing great interest in modern education. This is a good and hopeful change, and we should appreciate it. But while running after modern education, many people are slowly forgetting the importance of learning about their religion — and this is a big loss that is hard to fix.

We now see many Muslim doctors, engineers, and professors, but sadly, many of them are Muslim only by name. It’s not really their fault — the education system has taken them away from their religion. Parents also play a part in this. From the time their child is born, they only think about how to give them the best modern education. They think if they don’t do this, their child won’t succeed in life.

Because of this worry, many parents forget their main job: to raise their child as a good Muslim, who will bring peace and happiness to them in the future.

Many children are put into English-medium schools at a very young age. There, they may learn things about other religions, like Christianity, but they don’t learn much about Islam. Slowly, they start following Western culture and forget their own Islamic values.

At the same time, parents feel proud that their child can speak good English and is becoming successful. But they don’t realize that their child’s heart may be losing the light of faith.

Just like parents work hard to get their child into a good school, they should also care about teaching them religion and helping them grow up as good Muslims.

We must understand clearly: becoming a good Muslim and being well-educated are not opposites. A child can be successful in the world and still be strong in faith. There are many such examples around us.

To end, being a Muslim and truly following Islam should always go together.
